CHP chases BMW driver going over 100 mph on LA freeways

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A driver was taken into custody Tuesday evening after leading authorities on a dangerous high-speed chase through Los Angeles County.

According to authorities, it all started in the Rancho Cucamonga area, though it's unclear what the driver was wanted for.

AIR7 HD was above the scene when the suspect, who was driving a white BMW, was speeding on the 605 Freeway, reaching nearly 100 mph.

The driver exited the freeway briefly, then returned to 605 Freeway in the Downey-Norwalk area in light traffic.

After several minutes of weaving through traffic and driving through a residential area in Long Beach, he finally stopped and took off running near E 15th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.

It didn't take long for officers to catch up to him, placing him under arrest.
