Oklahoma City, Oklahoma — On April 2, 2025, Oklahoma City police say a pursuit began in Del City and ended near Pennsylvania and Reno avenues, where officers used a tactical vehicle intervention (TVI) to stop the fleeing car. During the chase, a magazine was thrown from the suspect’s vehicle. Once stopped, officers discovered a gun inside the car and arrested 34-year-old Deshane Jefferson, who was wanted for a felony warrant out of Jackson County, Oklahoma. According to Jackson County court documents, Jefferson met with a confidential informant in November.
Investigators said Jefferson was trying to sell a pistol, and he told the informant that he had used the weapon in a shooting in Wellington, Texas. Court documents showed Jefferson was convicted of a felony in Jackson County in 2018 and has a known gang affiliation. The second suspect in the vehicle remains under investigation by Texas Rangers. Both individuals were taken into custody without further incident and are being held at the Oklahoma County Detention Center. Jefferson is facing charges for felony carrying or possessing a firearm by a convicted felon, endangering others while eluding police, and flight to avoid arrest in Texas.
