Dayton, Ohio — On June 8, 2025, while on patrol, Dayton Police Officers saw a vehicle driving recklessly near Steve Whalen Boulevard and saw it get on to US 35. The vehicle description was similar to a stolen vehicle that hit on a Flock Safety camera in the area earlier that day. As officers attempted to catch up to the vehicle to identify the license plate the vehicle took the exit at Smithville Rd, drove into the grassy bank and then back onto US 35 traveling the wrong way into oncoming traffic. Officers activated overhead lights and sirens to signal for the vehicle to stop. The vehicle continued to refuse to obey the signal to stop. Due to the reckless and dangerous behavior that posed a serious threat to public safety an officer rammed the suspect’s vehicle to get the vehicle to stop. The driver, a 25-year-old male, was arrested, transported to an area hospital, and once cleared he was transported to Montgomery County Jail. Charges were approved for felony failure to comply. The passenger, a 26-year-old male, was arrested and transported to jail for his outstanding warrants.
