Oklahoma City, Oklahoma — On July 21, 2025, around 1 a.m. an Oklahoma City Police Officer was patrolling S High near Southeast 29th Street when a red truck began drifting over the center line into oncoming traffic. When attempts to pull him over failed, the teen, later identified as 18-year-old Daniel Plascenia Lopez, led police on a brief but dangerous pursuit through residential streets, striking a police cruiser and a parked vehicle, and even ramming through a front yard before crashing into a telephone pole. After officers boxed in the vehicle, Plascenia surrendered without further resistance but appeared distraught, shouting that he had done nothing wrong. A search of the truck revealed a partially consumed alcoholic beverage, and the strong odor of alcohol throughout the vehicle raised further concerns. Authorities say the teen is now facing a series of charges, including assault and battery on an officer, DUI under 21, leaving the scene of an accident involving damage, reckless driving, and eluding police.
